workshop: Landscape Painting in the Studio/beyond the photo reference

WORKSHOP: Landscape Painting in the Studio: Beyond the Photo Reference

This workshop will be held at Diane Hutchinson's Studio and school in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Students will learn methods and techniques to transcend the reference photo and create a painting that carries the artist's voice rather than looking like a copied photo.

We'll discuss the value of compositional thumbnail drawings, three-grey studies, color studies, and inventing the landscape.

Students should bring their own photo references (but I'll have some just in case...)

Price for this workshop is $160
