More a ‘color anatomy’ class than a ‘color theory’ class, students devote two days to the practice of making color charts as a way to study the range of colors on their palette and expand their understanding of color combinations, color temperature, and value. Boards, palette knives, tape, glass palettes are provided by the studio.

This first in a series of color chart workshops will use the ‘Zorn Palette’ of colors as a starting point. Future workshops will explore higher chromatic colors and combinations.

Students should bring the following paints with them:

• Titanium White

• Ivory Black

• Cadmium Red Medium

• Yellow Ochre
